Some say there are actually too many STEM-trained individuals for the workforce demand.

Much of the wide-ranging debate, as it turns out, depends on how you frame the situation. Part of the challenge comes because there’s no hard-and-fast definition for what occupations fall into the STEM category — some researchers include health care and social sciences, while others exclude them, for example. Although there are many nuances to the discussion, here are a few takeaway points from the panel:
